The war at Gettysburg was very horrific. Many men died at the battle. On the third day July 3, 1863 it happenend, Pickett was going to charge. Hancock made a statement "Everyone is to worn out, to hot". Then the confederate cannons started to fire. Then the union fired back. Hancock was on his horse and he was told to get down then he said "There are times when a corp comanders life does not count". Then soon after that the confederates came out of the woods and formed their lines. Then they put their bayonets on their muskets. Then I heard Virginia a few times. Then thousands of troops came marching foward. Then the Union had fired the cannons a few times the they just stopped firing. They came within 100 yards then the union hit them with bullets.
